Uad Plugins Bundle
[REQUEST] Any good cookbook bundles, or individual books. Universal Audio 2 Plugins? (self.torrentlinks) submitted 1 year ago * by artfulairbus. You cant use the universal audio plugins without an Audio interface UAD or DSP UAD. Thats why they does not exist, because they had a good security and verification with their hardware.
I'm new to the UAD train. I recorded some voice overs through some UAD gear a few years back, and I was so blown away by the quality that I've been spoiled for anything else. I was planning on getting an MKII Quad in the next couple weeks, and then saw the Classic Console Promo they are doing with the UAD-2 stuff, so I'm gonna get a UAD-2 Quad, too. From what I understand, if I register the MKII first, I can trade the UAD plugins that come with the UAD-2 Quad for the API bundle that comes with the Octo.
So far so great! (I'm so excited, I'm listening to the video where Jacquire King compared the vintage, analog gear to the Apollo Unison stuff on a loop! I actually prefer the slight differences in the emulations to the gear.) But here's what I don't get. All the plugins that come with the MKII are Legacy versions. 'Here's our latest and greatest hardware.
Have some of our outdated plugins to go with it.' I'm watching these promos for the new versions, and they talk about them like they do everything but mow the lawn. Is this mostly hype, or am I being set up like someone getting their first hit of crack for free, and I'll end up selling my all my furniture to get the new versions of the plugins?
Based on some of the impressions that have come out about DA:I from people who have never played before, it's a similar situation: there's stuff you won't get the joke behind, but you'll be able to get what's going on. You could tell that there was history between characters, but it wasn't necessary because it came through in their interactions. Dragon age inquisition game of the year edition. The only thing you may not get without having played it is why the explosion in the beginning of the game is important, based on where it was and the context behind it. You could tell from the opening that Shepard was important for some reason, but the second game was its own story.
For the next 2 years, 90% of what I do is going to be VO, VO demos, and some singer/songwriter stuff. Maybe some small bands. Nothing big until I get a full sized studio built, and I've only been mixing for about 6 months, but I seem to have a knack for it. Some of the 'little' NDA jobs I've done ended up with me having to sweeten up my client's work because their client liked what I did so much better. Not bragging.

Just saying I'm gonna pursue this. I was really surprised. I'm assuming the legacy version take less processing power, which will be a good thing. But are they gonna give me that UAD sound that just warms my soul and makes me want to melt into the floor? I'm interested to hear what real people who aren't getting paid to promote the latest versions have to say about them. Are the new LA2A, 1176 and Pultec plugins really all that much better?
I'm thinking I'm gonna be just fine with the legacy versions that come with he MKII, but if I'm not, is there an upgrade path? It's probably not that big of a deal for most people here to just upgrade, but the work I do is for a charity that helps the homeless, provide affordable housing, and help young people in a very economically depressed area start their own businesses, so $1,000 is like $10,000 to me. From the sound I recall and have researched, spending $1 on UAD Unison tech is like spending $10–100 on hardware.
I can't believe anyone even bothers with anything else. I got cursed with an overabundance of plugins that were given to me by a friend from Disney/Pixar, and, other than FabFilter and Airwindows, there's maybe a small handful of them that I find worth the time. Am I the only one that hears the difference between UAD and Waves/Slate Digital garbage? Am I making a smart choice, or falling for hype? I think the legacy versions are good, but the Mk2s are much closer to the hardware. Lots of pros still use the legacy versions though so it's not as if they have been rendered useless. You will get the chance to demo them and compare for yourself.
Best time to upgrade them are during sales. The plugins you get with the current accelerator promo are seriously good though, they will take you far. Well worth the price of the octo.
I'd probably go for the Neve 88RS before the upgrades personally, especially if VO is your main thing. Without going into a big long thing, I can tell you from my experience and direct testing, the Legacy versions are usually just edge out the 'other brands' and the mkII versions are in their own league. I have 6 total cores and it's not too often that I run out of DSP, but it does happen. When that does happen, I have no issues using the Legacy versions on lesser important tracks. But I have been getting better about committing to things on the way in and have less need for extensive plugins afterwards now. A lot of times you can get the mkII upgrades and a really decent and fair price. I know I did and thought it was very reasonable. So to pay to upgrade all of those and have something that is very close or the same as the real thing for about 1/4 the price of just any one of them, plus being able to use dozens of them in a mix is a pretty good deal if you ask me!
